There are many different types of Pensacola Therapists, as well as around the country and around the world. One type of mental health counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), for instance, and it is quite popular. The main reason for this is that it places a huge focus on our thinking. That’s what “cognitive” refers to. It also places some emphasis on our behaviors, which is important as well. But doing that without addressing our thoughts isn’t nearly as powerful. After all, nothing happens without a thought first. So the therapy counseling that I do certainly has a strong CBT component to it. Our thoughts are really where it’s at.
The other main aspect to the work that I do as a counseling therapist involves learning how to let go of feelings so that they can move on. And they will if you let them; all it takes is the willingness to do things differently, and then you practice. This releasing technique works equally well with old stuff, new stuff, big stuff (including trauma), small stuff, and even future worries.
It works very well with stress, too. Very well. Most of my clients, to be honest, are pretty stressed. That’s a common thread, and we fully cover stress in the first session. After the first session, in fact, I can honestly say that you are an expert on stress. All you have to do after that is practice. Stress is a normal, unavoidable part of our lives, so we might as well learn what to do with it. Then it’s no longer a problem. It still comes, but we know exactly what to do with it, right there on the spot. And now it flows through us without building up. That’s huge.
Pensacola Therapists and Spiritual Counseling
The final component of my work as a therapist involves spiritual counseling. This is totally optional, though. We only talk about this if it’s something that you want to talk about. If you do, then we can really zoom out and change our vantage point. We don’t have to, though. The work that we do with our thinking and feeling applies to all humans and is powerful enough by itself to completely change your life.
I wish you the best as you search through Pensacola Therapists. If you want to learn more about what I do, then visit my blog at below. I’ve spelled it out there as clearly as possible. You’ll find many client stories as well (all anonymous, of course), and you might even find one that’s similar to your current situation. Either way, I hope you find what you need right on time, and I certainly wish you peace.
